Splendours of Autumn Voyage – RMS Queen Mary 2

The City of New York is the most populous city in the United States and the most densely populated city in North America and  one of the world’s four global cities along with London, Tokyo and Paris.

The Queen Mary 2 was docked at Red Hook, Brooklyn. The ship is huge, towering and magnificent and we haven’t boarded yet! The sun was just setting when the ship pulled away from the dock and I think I captured one of my best pictures ever – Manhattan. I was a little disappointed to view the Statue of Liberty. She seemed so small. As the lights of the city came on we could view the Brooklyn Bridge, adding to what seemed to be a fairytale picture.

The ship sailed under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge with only a few feet to spare. The captain advised us the Queen Mary 2 must sail under the bridge when the tide is just right.

All aboard!
